Full job description

A Clarenville, Newfoundland-based hospitality group requires a Marketing & AI Director.

We are a locally owned group of hospitality, food service, and retail businesses in the Clarenville area. We're looking for one sharp person to own our marketing — and to lead how our whole group puts modern AI tools to work.

This isn't a post-and-pray social media gig. You'll be the person who makes our businesses look great online and makes our teams faster and smarter behind the scenes.

What you'll do

Marketing

- Run our Facebook and Instagram pages: content calendar, posts, stories, reels, contests, and seasonal campaigns

- Shoot and edit photos and short video at our locations — real people, real food, real Newfoundland

- Keep Google and Facebook listings, menus, hours, and prices accurate everywhere

- Answer reviews and messages in a voice that sounds like us: friendly, plainspoken, local

- Plan promotions that fill rooms, tables, and tanks — and track what actually worked

AI leadership

- Put practical AI tools (like Muse and ChatGPT) to work across the group: drafting, scheduling, reports, customer replies, training materials

- Train and coach our managers and staff to use AI confidently in their day-to-day work — patiently, in plain language

- Build simple, repeatable AI workflows and playbooks our teams will actually follow

- Keep a human eye on everything: accuracy and our reputation always come before automation

What we're looking for

- A challenge-thriver: when a job is big, your instinct is to dig in — big jobs energize you, and you bring solutions, not complaints

- A marketer first: you can plan a campaign, shoot a decent photo, and write a post people stop scrolling for

- Genuinely fluent with AI tools — you already use them daily and can show us what you've built or improved with them

- A teacher's patience: you'll be bringing a whole team along, including people who've never touched AI

- Lives in or near Clarenville and can be at our locations regularly

- Self-directed and organized — you'll set your own priorities and report on results

- Bonus: Canva or CapCut, basic website updates, Google Business Profile experience

What we offer

- Full-time position starting at $30.00/hour

- Real scope: several different businesses, one tight-knit local team, and your fingerprints on all of it

- A front-row seat to how a modern small-business group runs — you'll work directly with the ownership

To apply

Apply through Indeed with:

1. A short note on why you're the right fit

2. 2–3 examples of marketing content you've created

3. One example of how you've used AI to get something done faster or better

This is a confidential posting. The employer's identity will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Application question(s):

  • Tell us about the biggest, most demanding job you've ever taken on. What made it hard — and how did you get it done?
  • Which AI tools do you use in a typical week? Give one specific example of something you built or finished faster with them.
  • This role juggles several businesses at once and the priorities change fast. What appeals to you about that?
