Digital Tea is a well-respected local web design and development company with 26 years of experience! We are a small but mighty group of designers, developers, digital marketers and content creators with diverse backgrounds and decades of combined experience. Our company foundation is built on creating and maintaining exceptional relationships with our valued clients. We work hard to ensure that they feel supported in their digital endeavours. Digital Tea is looking to expand on the SEO/SEM/SMM services we offer, and is looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team remotely. Although you will be working remotely, you will need to reside in the Greater Edmonton Area and be available for in-person meetings with reasonable notice. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to grow our Digital Marketing (DM) department and build our client base and service offerings through diligent work and proven results. This role will also include supporting Digital Tea’s social media presence and performing social media marketing tasks for internal and external client needs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the management of campaigns for multiple accounts across various sectors
  • Perform day-to-day SEO tasks (keyword tracking, ranking checks, data updates)
  • Monthly SEO and Ads reporting by collecting metrics and preparing client reports
  • Experience monitoring PPC budgets and performance pacing across platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads)
  • Provide recommendations for improvements, and work with clients and the Digital Tea team to implement those recommendations
  • Regularly perform thorough keyword & competitor research, both for clients as well as Digital Tea
  • Attend virtual and in-person meetings
  • Manage and modify WordPress websites and web content to maximize SEO results and functionality
  • Support website updates, content publishing, formatting, and internal linking
  • Manage your time and efforts precisely and effectively
  • Stay on top of optimization, search engine, and internet marketing trends and developments
  • Social media management for Digital Tea and our clients
  • Preparing and scheduling social media content (graphics, captions, hashtags, basic posts)
  • Help with light content research and reference collection for social platforms
  • Assist with competitor social media research and content benchmarking
  • Update local listings and support basic Local SEO tasks
  • Perform routine website health checks (404s, metadata, broken links, indexing issues)

Requirements at a Glance:

  • MUST RESIDE IN THE GREATER EDMONTON AREA
  • Digital Marketing experience: 3–5 years minimum (required)
  • WordPress experience: minimum 3 years (content publishing, formatting, basic updates)
  • Language: English (required)
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, and Google Ads for data collection and reporting
  • Working knowledge of SEO tools such as Yoast, RankMath, Semrush, or similar
  • Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Well written/spoken; able to prepare simple content drafts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be available during regular working hours (8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday)
  • Comfortable working in Google Sheets (filters, sorting, formatting, light analysis)
  • Prompt and courteous responses to internal and external communications
  • Experience preparing digital content, including graphics, visuals, short-form videos, and captions for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit)
  • Working knowledge of social media scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar)
  • Ability to follow SOPs, work independently, and manage multiple ongoing tasks
  • Minimum 3 references who can confirm work ethic, communication, and professionalism
  • Must live in Alberta, preferably in Edmonton or an immediately surrounding community

We want a team member with:

  • 3–5 years (minimum) of hands-on experience in SEO and Digital Marketing
  • A practical understanding of how to create, publish, and refine digital content across multiple platforms
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach to supporting client success
  • Reliable time and task management skills with the ability to shift priorities smoothly
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in day-to-day execution
  • Ability to identify issues early, communicate them clearly, and follow through on solutions
  • Intermediate skill level with various SEO tools
  • Intermediate level skills with Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, Google Ads, and G Suite
  • Familiarity with best practices in on-page SEO and foundational technical SEO concepts
  • A solid understanding of website structure, content formatting, and user-friendly presentation
  • Experience supporting content creation, including graphics, short-form videos, captions, and platform-specific formatting
  • Solid writing skills for simple content tasks and clear internal communication
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit) and how digital content behaves across each
  • Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
