Job Title: Non-Prime Finance Manager
Location: Sherwood Kia – Brand New Facility
Department: Finance & Insurance (F&I)
Reports To: General Manager
Compensation: Commission / Bonus Structure

Position Overview

Sherwood Kia is seeking a driven and experienced Subprime Finance Manager to lead and expand our special finance operations in our brand-new dealership. This role is pivotal in helping credit-challenged customers secure financing while driving profitability and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate brings proven subprime expertise, strong lender relationships, and advanced deal-structuring skills, combined with a customer-first approach. This is a leadership position requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure, submit, and secure approvals for subprime and near-prime deals through a wide network of lenders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subprime lenders, credit unions, and special finance institutions
  • Analyze customer credit profiles to determine optimal financing solutions
  • Stay current on lender programs, stipulations, and rate changes
  • Ensure all contracts and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with all regulatory and dealership standards
  • Drive profitability by maximizing approvals, backend gross, and lender penetration
  • Implement and refine lead management and follow-up processes to increase subprime conversion rates
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Internet teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Track and report on key performance metrics including approval rates, gross per unit, and funding efficiency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years in automotive F&I, including 2+ years in a subprime-focused role
  • Proven success in securing subprime approvals and growing special finance volume
  • Established relationships with major subprime lenders and financial institutions
  • Advanced knowledge of credit bureaus, deal structuring, and lender guidelines
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulations (FTC, Red Flags, Truth in Lending, Fair Lending)
  • Proficiency with CRM and DMS systems (Dealertrack, RouteOne, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual is an asset
