Job Title: Residential Roofing & Siding Site Supervisor

Position Summary

Working closely with the Project Manager, the Site Supervisor is the frontline lead responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and timeliness of residential exterior projects. This role balances technical site inspections, crew mentorship, and hands-on deficiency resolution with a high level of professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Quality Assurance

  • Site Excellence: Oversee on-site workmanship to ensure it meets Epic’s "Gold Standard" and Alberta OH&S safety requirements.
  • Inspections & Audits: Conduct thorough site inspections and prepare detailed reports; identify and address potential issues before they become deficiencies.
  • Crew Mentorship: Provide verbal and hands-on training to field crews to improve installation techniques and efficiency.
  • Reporting: Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and Coordinator regarding daily progress, site challenges, and recommended actions.
  • Hands-on Support: Complete manual tasks, final details, or service work as required to move a project toward successful completion.

2. Project Close-out & AR Support

  • Deficiency Resolution: Proactively manage "work-to-be-done" lists provided by the Accounts Receivable department to ensure timely payment and client satisfaction.
  • Stale File Management: Follow up on older files to ensure final deficiencies are cleared and the project is formally closed.
  • Presence: Provide an "Epic presence" on complex or difficult job sites to reassure homeowners and provide technical clarity.

3. Specialized Technical Instruction

  • Skill Development: Provide targeted on-the-job instruction regarding complex flashings, safety compliance, and modern installation methods.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement better ways to execute jobs during the inspection process.

4. Logistics & Administration

  • Coordination: Schedule appointments and meet with homeowners to walk through project scopes or address concerns.
  • Route Optimization: Organize daily travel routes in the most efficient manner to maximize time on-site.
  • Stewardship: Ensure proper care, maintenance, and organization of the provided company vehicle and tools.
  • Tech-Savvy Reporting: Manage daily emails, project management software entries, and photo documentation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the Roofing or Exteriors industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of residential installation techniques (shingles, siding, soffit/fascia, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Self-Management: Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Tech Literacy: Proficiency with mobile apps, digital cameras, and basic computer tasks (email/reporting).
  • Driver’s License: A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

Work Environment

  • Field-based role working on active construction sites.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction-related hazards.Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, and working at heights.Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 kg or more.Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
