Job Title: Clinical Psychologist – With Interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder/LD

Location: Pediatric Urgent Care, Multiple Locations in the Greater Toronto Area

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

About Us

Pediatric Urgent Care is Canada's largest outpatient pediatric organization with 6 locations in the GTA, offering a wide range of multi-specialty services, including urgent care and developmental assessments. We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist specializing in diagnosing and assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary

The Clinical Psychologist will provide comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children. You will work in collaboration with pediatricians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care for our young patients. This position involves conducting psychological evaluations, implementing evidence-based assessment tools, and providing families with support and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children, using standardized tools such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide clear, thorough reports and feedback to families regarding the child’s diagnosis and recommendations for intervention and support.
  • Offer counseling and guidance to families on managing ASD and connecting them with additional services.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care and contribute to the overall care plan.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and developments in Autism Spectrum Disorder and incorporate best practices into clinical assessments.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution (PhD or PsyD).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions in children.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting ASD assessment tools, including the ADOS and ADI-R.
  • Experience working with children and families in clinical settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest research in pediatric psychology and ASD.
