Job Description: Active Play Coordinator

Are you an enthusiastic educator eager to inspire young minds across Calgary and Okotoks? Step into a role where your creativity and dedication can shape the future—are you ready to lead and inspire?

As an Active Play Coordinator, your job is to work as a core part of a team, providing a safe, fun, club-based environment both indoors and outdoors for children registered in TOPP KIDS programs. You will be responsible for ensuring that daily duties outlined in your portfolio are executed with excellence and for providing a high level of fun for the children at all times. You will be in charge of co-planning and preparing outstanding activities that inspire and motivate children to be involved while providing them the chance to develop leadership skills. You will act as part of a collaborative team, and report directly to the Program Coordinator.

About Us:

TOPP KIDS Out Of School Clubs is an award-winning provider of early childhood education, blending childcare, recreation, and education. We serve children ages 5-12 across 13 communities in Calgary and Okotoks, offering enriching programs before and after school, as well as summer camps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate active play, STEM activities, and creative expression programs
  • Develop and lead clubs that foster young leaders
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all children
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate diverse programming into daily routines
  • Monitor and assess children's development and provide feedback to parents
  • Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and safety standards

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education level I,II,or III or equivalent in a related field
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR or willing to complete
  • Valid Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search or willing to complete
  • Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and various educational programming
  • Energetic, creative, and passionate about making a difference
