The Opportunity

Complete Environmental Group (CEG) is looking for a strategic hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations across a growing multi-subsidiary environmental services organization. In this role, you will shape capital strategy, lead M&A due diligence, and drive post-acquisition integration as CEG enters its next phase of growth. With over 30 years in Western Canada’s waste management, recycling, and logistics sectors – and active acquisitions on the horizon – CEG needs a CFO who can lead and evolve its financial operations to support that trajectory

Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll serve as a key member of the senior leadership team with direct access to the Presidents and Board of Directors. You’ll take the lead on an established finance function, overseeing financial performance across T&T Disposal, Cutting Edge, and CEG’s expanding portfolio of companies – strengthening and evolving systems, controls, and reporting as the organization continues to scale.

This isn’t a role where finance sits in a silo. You’ll partner directly with operations, and senior leadership to drive business decisions, build scalable systems, and position CEG for long-term growth across Western Canada.

What You’ll Do (including but not limited to)

Strategic Financial Leadership & Capital Planning

  • Develop and execute enterprise financial strategy aligned with CEG’s growth objectives across all subsidiaries.
  • Lead multi-year financial modelling, forecasting, and long-range capital planning.
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, treasury management, and overall liquidity strategy.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across financial and operational metrics; deliver variance analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Acquisitions & Business Integration

  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation modelling, and deal structuring for acquisitions.
  • Oversee post-acquisition financial integration including systems alignment, reporting consolidation, and performance benchmarking.
  • Evaluate expansion, restructuring, and refinancing opportunities as CEG scales.

Finance Operations & Compliance

  • Providing executive oversight of corporate accounting, multi-entity consolidation, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and facility-level financial performance across all entities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies; maintain audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Impact

  • Directly oversee the Controller and finance/accounting team, fostering accountability, and professional development.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and senior leadership to support organizational objectives and inform business decisions.
  • Build scalable financial infrastructure – systems, process, and reporting – to support continued growth and acquisition integration.

What You Bring

  • CPA designation required (CA legacy designation accepted; MBA or CFA considered an asset).
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with 5+ years in an executive finance role (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent).
  • Direct experience leading M&A due diligence, financial modelling, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Proven track record managing complex banking relationships, credit facilities, and capital structures.
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-subsidiary financial management and consolidation.
  • Background in transportation, logistics, waste management, or environmental services strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate financial strategy clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

What We Offer

  • Executive Leadership Impact – A key leadership role shaping the long-term financial strategy of a growing waste management and environmental services organization.
  • Competitive Executive Compensation – Competitive salary and benefits package aligned with executive leadership roles.
  • Strategic Influence – Direct partnership with the COO, Presidents, and Board of Directors.
  • Purpose-Driven Work – Contribute to an organization committed to supporting sustainable waste management practices for communities across Western Canada.
