Full job description

We are a growing international freight forwarding and logistics company specializing in global import and export solutions. We provide air freight, ocean freight, trucking, customs coordination, warehousing, and supply chain services to businesses across North America and international markets.

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding & Logistics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in freight forwarding operations, customer service, carrier management, and logistics coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments by air, ocean, truck, and rail
  • Obtain freight quotes and negotiate rates with carriers and overseas agents
  • Manage bookings with steamship lines, airlines, trucking companies, and warehouse providers
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation
  • Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
  • Resolve shipment delays, claims, and service issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, agents, and customers
  • Coordinate import and export shipments from origin to final delivery
  • Support sales efforts by identifying opportunities for new business and account growth
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and international shipping requirements

Skills

Minimum 3 years of freight forwarding experience

  • Experience with ocean freight, air freight, and ground transportation
  • Strong understanding of import and export procedures
  • Experience dealing with overseas agents and carriers
  • Knowledge of customs clearance processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Proficiency with freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of CARM, CBSA, customs brokerage, or international trade is an asset

Preferred Experience

  • NVOCC, freight brokerage, or logistics sales experience
  • Existing customer relationships and industry contacts
  • Experience developing new business opportunities
  • Experience with LTL, FTL, drayage, and container shipments
