Full job description

Purchasing, Pricing and Inventory Analyst

Location: Kanata, Ontario — fully onsite Monday to Friday
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: $29.00–$33.00 per hour

AutoShack is a growing automotive parts company with e-commerce, distribution and retail operations in Canada and the United States.

We are hiring an analytical and detail-oriented individual to work across purchasing, pricing, inventory planning, logistics tracking, supplier negotiations, customs, reporting and business analysis.

This is a broad business operations role, not a position focused only on purchasing or logistics. Priorities may change based on the needs of the company. AutoShack will train the right candidate in areas where they have less direct experience.

This is an office-based analytical position. It is not a warehouse, dispatch, driving, delivery, food-service, skilled-trade or general labour role.

Mandatory Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree is mandatory in supply chain, business, commerce, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data analytics or another directly relevant analytical field. College certificates or diplomas alone do not meet this requirement.
  • At least two years of professional office-based experience involving supply chain, purchasing, pricing, inventory, logistics coordination, operations, reporting or business analysis.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, formulas, data comparison and working with large spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.
  • Strong numerical ability, judgment and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage several priorities and move between different types of work.
  • The ability to work fully onsite in Kanata, Ontario, Monday to Friday.
  • Willingness to complete a TestGorilla skills assessment before an interview.

Warehouse, dispatch, driving, shipping-floor, retail, restaurant or general labour experience alone does not meet the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Support purchasing, supplier communication and purchase-order follow-up.
  • Negotiate pricing, freight, delivery terms and service requirements.
  • Review product costs, freight, tariffs, landed costs, pricing and margins.
  • Analyze inventory levels, sales, replenishment needs and product movement.
  • Track shipments, delivery dates, delays and required documents.
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Assist with customs documentation and shipment issues.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel reports used for business decisions.
  • Research products, suppliers, competitors and market pricing.
  • Identify errors, shortages, delays and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support accounting, e-commerce, warehouse and management teams.
  • Complete other analytical, operational and business tasks required by the company.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is an asset:

  • Purchasing or supplier management
  • Product pricing or costing
  • Inventory or demand planning
  • Logistics tracking or customs coordination
  • Automotive parts, distribution, e-commerce or retail
  • NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or another ERP system
  • Power Query or Power BI

Direct experience in every responsibility is not required. We are looking for someone with strong analytical ability, communication, judgment, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.

Candidates seeking a narrow role focused only on purchasing, pricing or logistics may not be suited to this position.

TestGorilla Assessment Required

Applicants selected to move forward must complete a 35–45-minute TestGorilla skills assessment before an interview.

The assessment covers:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving
  • Written communication
  • Practical business scenarios

Applicants who are not prepared to complete the assessment should not apply.
