Job Description:
Canine Care & Wellness Associate (Dog Daycare & Boarding)
Location: South Surrey, British Columbia
Employment: Full-Time
Compensation: From $19.00 CAD per hour
Workplace: On-site
A Different Standard of Canine Care.
Nestled within acres of beautiful woodland in South Surrey, Dog ParQ is an established dog daycare and boarding destination entering an exciting new chapter.
With an exceptional natural setting, a loyal community of clients, a wonderful group of dogs and a dedicated team, we are investing significantly in our facilities, services and overall guest experience.
Our ambition is to establish Dog ParQ as one of British Columbia's leading luxury pet wellness resorts, where outstanding animal care, thoughtful enrichment and exceptional service come together.
We're looking for passionate, dependable and enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team and become part of this exciting transformation.
The Role:
As a Canine Care & Wellness Associate, you'll play an important role in ensuring every dog in our care enjoys a safe, comfortable and enriching experience.
You'll work alongside our existing team, supporting daily daycare and boarding accommodation operations, whilst offering the highest standards of animal welfare at all times.
This is an active, hands-on position that requires energy, attention to detail, patience and a genuine love of dogs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing attentive daily care to dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments.
- Supervising daycare groups, encouraging appropriate social interaction and maintaining a safe, positive environment.
- Supporting daily routines, including feeding, walking, bathing, rest periods and enrichment activities.
- Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene throughout our indoor facilities, boarding accommodation and outdoor spaces.
- Monitoring canine behaviour, body language, health and general wellbeing, promptly communicating any concerns.
- Administering medication or specific care requirements when appropriately trained and instructed.
- Capturing photographs, videos and meaningful updates to keep our clients connected with their dogs.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistent care standards and smooth daily operations.
- Contributing to the welcoming, professional atmosphere and exceptional service standards that define Dog ParQ.
Who We're Looking For:
We're interested in individuals who take genuine pride in caring for animals and recognise the responsibility that comes with looking after someone's much-loved companion.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine passion for dogs and a strong commitment to animal welfare.
- A positive, dependable and hardworking attitude.
- Confidence around dogs of varying sizes and temperaments, or a willingness to develop these skills through guidance and experience.
- Excellent observational skills and an understanding of the importance of canine safety.
- The ability to remain calm, focused and professional in a busy environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
- A willingness to undertake physically demanding work, including cleaning, lifting, standing for extended periods and working outdoors.
- A proactive approach and the ability to take responsibility for completing tasks to a high standard.
Previous experience in professional dog daycare, boarding, veterinary care, animal rescue or another canine-related environment would be extremely advantageous, but is not essential.
We place considerable importance on attitude, reliability and a genuine commitment to doing things properly.
Life at Dog ParQ
We believe that an exceptional experience for our dogs begins with the people responsible for their care.
Joining Dog ParQ means becoming part of an established business with an exciting future.
What makes Dog ParQ different?
- An exceptional environment: Work within a beautiful, expansive woodland setting, surrounded by nature and purpose-built canine facilities.
- An exciting new chapter: Be part of an ambitious investment programme transforming our facilities and elevating our standards.
- A supportive team: Join a dedicated group of individuals who share a genuine passion for dogs and their wellbeing.
- Professional development: Gain valuable practical experience in canine care, behaviour, handling and enrichment.
- A rewarding role: Make a meaningful difference to the daily lives of the dogs entrusted to our care.
Additional benefits include flexible scheduling and complimentary on-site parking.
An Important Note About the Role:
Working with dogs is incredibly rewarding, but it's also demanding.
Alongside the enjoyable moments, this position involves substantial cleaning, physical activity, close supervision and consistent attention to detail.
Maintaining immaculate facilities and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every dog are fundamental responsibilities, not secondary tasks.
We're looking for individuals who embrace these responsibilities with professionalism and take pride in delivering exceptional care, even when the work is challenging.
Join the Dog ParQ Team
If you're passionate about dogs, enjoy working outdoors and want to be part of a business committed to raising the standard of pet care in British Columbia, we'd love to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your resume alongside a brief introduction explaining why you're interested in joining Dog ParQ and what you believe you'd bring to our team.
