Terminal Forest Products Ltd, a lumber manufacturing business, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit / Finance Manager to join their team.

The Credit / Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's commercial credit function, accounts receivable portfolio, customer risk management, and selected finance and treasury activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting company assets, supporting business growth, and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring prudent risk management.

Terminal Forest Products has built its reputation on disciplined credit practices and strong financial management. We are seeking an experienced professional who can continue this tradition while contributing to the company's ongoing growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customer financial statements, credit reports, trade references, and banking information to assess creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits.
  • Review, approve, modify, or decline commercial credit applications for domestic and international customers.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and oversee collection activities to ensure timely payment and minimize credit exposure.
  • Develop and maintain customer credit files, risk assessments, and ongoing account monitoring procedures.
  • Administer risk mitigation programs including trade credit insurance, letters of credit, guarantees, and other security arrangements.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and senior management to support customer growth while maintaining acceptable risk parameters.
  • Analyze customer financial performance and identify emerging credit risks and market trends.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury-related activities.
  • Support banking relationships and financing requirements through reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare regular credit, receivable, and risk exposure reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, collection agencies, and external stakeholders when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, credit procedures, and applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • University degree or College Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial B2B credit management experience.
  • Experience in forestry, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, logistics, or export-oriented industries is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and accounts receivable management.
  • Experience with trade credit insurance, letters of credit, secured transactions, and international trade is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial collection procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
  • CCP (Certified Credit Professional) designation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to balance customer service objectives with sound risk management practices.

Details:

· Full-time, 40 hours per week

· Annual salary $90,000 - $110,000
