Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our legal team. In this role, you will support lawyers by preparing documents, managing case files, and assisting with administrative tasks. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth legal operations and contribute to the efficient handling of cases. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal field while honing your research, writing, and project management skills.

Responsibilities
Assist lawyer with legal research using platforms like canlii to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal articles.
Draft, proofread, and review legal documents including memos, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Manage case files using document management systems such as divorcemate and organize physical and electronic filing systems for easy retrieval.
Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, maintaining calendars, and coordinating meetings or interviews with clients or witnesses.
Perform data entry tasks related to case information, court filings, and client records with precision and attention to detail.
Conduct thorough proofreading of all legal documents to maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones with proper phone etiquette, scheduling appointments

Attend trials with lawyers to keep notes

Experience
Previous clerical or administrative experience in a legal setting is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Proven writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
Experience with legal drafting, proofreading, and editing is highly desirable.
Familiarity with project management tools or methods to track case progress and deadlines.
Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
