Samsic is HIRING – PAX Supervisor - Part-Time
We are looking for a PAX Supervisor to support our Vancouver station. The successful candidate will be an energetic, positive, professional, and self-motivated individual providing exceptional operational support.
Shifts: 24 hours/week

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis and report directly to the Account Manager.
- Performs all functions of Lead, as needed.
- When required, must be able to comfortably and continuously move/lift customer luggage with an average weight of 50 pounds, in some cases exceeding 70 pounds.
- Directly observe workers, verify that workers’ performance meets expectations for safety.
- Direct and instruct workers, responding to their questions and concerns.
- Ensure the health and safety of all workers and communicate security and safety requirements/instructions to staff.
- Provide/verify workers’ training before undertaking new tasks.
- Maintain a supervisor’s journal or log.
- Coordinate and oversee the aircraft turnaround activities.
- Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate SA employees as required, ensuring all shifts are covered.
- Work with the Account Manager to ensure staffing levels are complete and assist in the hiring process, including interviewing and delivering all training.
- Work with the Account Manager to ensure employee assessments are completed in a timely fashion.
- Assist the Account Manager in developing and implementing disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist the Account Manager in creating termination letters and executing an employee termination process in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Delegate daily flight responsibilities among team members and assign all team members.
- Follow and enforce all airline standard operating procedures.
- Ensure proper first aid procedures are administered to injured staff and correct reporting procedures are followed.
- Ensure complete flight paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure all billings, ad hoc, are recorded per flight and submitted to the Account Manager in a timely fashion.
- Participate in oversight of all the operations during hours when required.
- Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to output and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary.
- Cooperate fully with Inspectors to achieve quality inspection commitments.
- Ensure that financial targets are met in line with the operational plan.
- Establish and maintain a high-quality standard in the PAX operation; ensure workflows are constantly improved to meet competitive requirements.
- Ensure that all passenger service providers are closely supervised.
- Maintain close and effective business relationships with customer airline management.
- Maintain good working relationships with control authorities such as Airport Management, Customs, and Immigration.
- Analyze operational issues (including Safety, Security, and Quality), identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Generate detailed reports and summaries of operations.
- Ensure effective planning methods and procedures are in place, with adequate manpower and equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Oversee and manage employee performance, compliance with internal and external requirements, and implement required training.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience and training experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of industry experience
- 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
- Ability to work in a team environment; ability to deal with conflict
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Technical knowledge of equipment and systems
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work under pressure
- Customer focus and quality awareness
- Willingness to work in inclement weather
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearance
- Must successfully complete mandatory trainings
- Eligible to work in Canada
