Full job description
RESIDENTIAL COORDINATOR
The Residence Coordinator oversees and organizes the services and operations in one or more residential care settings of Spectrum Learning Centre. This includes supervising and managing, collaboratively and alongside Program Managers, direct service personnel. To ensure care settings are satisfying requirements, and in consultation with company management, RC ’s will be responsible for setting and measuring goals, collecting relevant data, and reporting results of each assigned program. RC ’s must familiarize themselves with the SHSS portal application and instruct staff on reporting within the portal. Residential Coordinators will maintain house budgets and manage allocated funds and determine unique program needs. Additionally, RC ’s will set and adjust staff schedules as needed and provide supervision for direct staff development.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field.
- 3 years relevant related experience, including 1 year supervisory or administrative
experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Specific training in behavioural modification, children under 12 years of age with support needs, attachment-based parenting, and relationship-based interventions (Trauma - informed practice).
- Have current First Aid, Food Safe and a Class 5 Drivers License.
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to compile accurate records and prepare reports.
- Must complete a criminal record check.
EXPECTATIONS & DUTIES:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of a Care Setting, provides ongoing supervision of Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors, and evaluates program policies.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates Care Setting goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and ensures the required standards are maintained. Identifies both physical and program needs of the Care Setting to appropriate authority(ies). Plans with Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors for changes.
- Schedules, supervises, and evaluates Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors and monitors daily operations. Assists in recruiting and selecting of Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors and provides guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation or other matters arising in the Care Setting. Identifies the needs of Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors for professional development.
- Addresses conflict with staff, mediates for resolution, guides staff through the complaints and grievance process and works with HR for further action.
- Assists senior management in preparing the annual operating budget and monitors, authorizes and allocates expenditures within the budget. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
- Ensures the cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance of the Care Setting in accordance with applicable licensing standards either directly or through delegation to Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors.
- Maintains the Care Setting’s inventory of supplies.
- Works as a Residential Child & Youth Worker, or an Awake Residential Night Worker, performing the duties as required; appropriately delivering or enables strategies established in children’s and youth’s SHSS Service Plan.
- Residential Coordinators will consult with company management in establishing program goals and targets, collecting data, and reporting results to measure program performance.
- Collaboratively with the Program Manager, oversees professional development for direct service personnel, including supervision, monitoring, and encourag ing growth.
- Provides feedback to upper management on applicants and offers suggestions for existing staff promotions.
- Residential Coordinators collaborate with the Executive Director in allocating contract funds, determining program-specific costs, and managing program budgets.
- Creates and maintains staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage, managing staff availability while maintaining program requirements.
- Residential Coordinators are expected to learn and familiarize themselves with the ministry’s online portal application, eventually being able to teach and instruct staff the basic functions of daily reporting.
- Liaises with the community, government, families, officials, and professionals and promotes community involvement in the program.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Full-time Salary $32.79
SCHEDULE BENEFITS

- Mornings, evenings, afternoons, and graveyards, including one weekend day.
