Full job description

Mount Norquay is hiring full-time Trail Crew members starting immediately! If you enjoy hard physical work, being outdoors, and taking pride in improving mountain terrain, we want to hear from you.

Join our Trail Crew and spend your days working in the stunning surroundings of Banff National Park. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physically demanding work, aren't afraid to get dirty, and thrive as part of a hardworking team. Your efforts will help prepare Mount Norquay for another successful winter season.

Duties May Include

  • Brush cutting and clearing ski runs using STIHL clearing saws and other hand tools
  • Removing rocks, deadfall, brush, and other debris from mountain terrain
  • FireSmart vegetation management around the resort
  • Digging, raking, lifting, hauling, and other physically demanding manual labour
  • Building and maintaining trails, drainage, fencing, and other mountain infrastructure
  • Assisting with construction projects and resort improvements
  • Operating equipment including ATVs, chainsaws, brush saws, and other power tools (training provided)
  • Working safely on steep, uneven terrain in all weather conditions
  • Performing general mountain clean-up in preparation for the winter season

Requirements

  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labour for extended periods
  • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day
  • Able to hike and work on steep, uneven mountain terrain
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team while following safety procedures
  • Previous experience in trail maintenance, landscaping, forestry, construction, or other labour-intensive work is considered an asset
  • Chainsaw experience or certification is an asset
  • Experience operating ATVs or other off-road equipment is an asset
  • Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence is an asset
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset
