Your Dollar Store with More located in downtown Nelson, BC is currently looking for an assistant manager. Our store has a long tradition and we are looking for a mature strong individual who is passionate about retail.

This is a full time position (store is open 7 days a week), commencing ASAP.

Summary of Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Ensure service standards are followed as well as company rules and regulations are understood;
• Ensure availability of merchandise by maintaining and ordering inventory and maximizing sales, seek market opportunities by bringing in new products;
• Resolve customer complaints, questions and/or inquiries;
• Ensure that store opening/closing procedures are properly followed and the store appearance meets the company’s standards;
• Operate a cash register;
• Report daily revenues;
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service;
• Actively promote business within community

Skills, Knowledge, abilities:

• MS Office & Excel, internet ordering process
• Organizational and problem solving skills
• Assertive, direct, but approachable and reasonable
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Positive attitude, efficient, creative

Experience:

• No previous experience in retail needed, the right candidate will be trained, but you need to be a quick learner and have a certain set of skills
• Previous leading position preferred

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
