Full job description

Midori Ramen is the newest tori paitan restaurant in Toronto. Coming all the way from Japan, our executive chefs, Masaru and Natsu carefully crafted our creamy chicken broth, rich and umami, with carefully selected ingredients to compliment each of our dishes. This provides a healthy alternative to a more traditional pork-based broth.


At Midori, we believe in Omotenashi, an integral part of Japanese culture, which emphasizes our hospitality. It shows in the way every dish is made, through each selection of ingredients and how we put our souls into every bowl.


Job Description:


Promote our belief in Omotenashi with every customer and our belief in a “Soul in every bowl”.

Provide inventory control.

Prepare awesome ramen for our customers!

Weigh, measure, mix and prepare ingredients according to recipes.

Boil noodles, warm up soup, complete a bowl of ramen.

Check food and ingredients for freshness.

Arrange and garnish dishes.

Work well under pressure and within the time limit.

Ensure that the kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.

Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the restaurant manager.

Train and supervise staff.

Ensure all food safety procedures are strictly adhered to according to sanitary regulations.

Work closely with management to meet revenue objectives.

Implement appropriate strategies to resolve adverse trends and improve sales.

Maintain safe working conditions.

Follow company policies and procedures regarding the handling of cash, property, products and equipment.

Audit inventory levels to ensure product availability, and order products as necessary.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:


One year of related experience and/or training or equivalent.

Fluent in spoken English, and/or Japanese speaking is a bonus.

High integrity and work ethics.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment either independently or collaboratively.

Ability to work a shift-based schedule including weekends and holidays.
