Welcome to the NWT Brewing Company - nestled between the wonder of the aurora borealis and the rugged nature of the northern frontier, our little brewing outpost is one of a kind. Located in the spirited town of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories we are the northernmost brewpub in Canada. Established in 2015, we made Canada's top 50 bars list in 2018 and have held the number 1 spot on Trip Advisor for several years. We value good beer, exceptional fresh food and strive daily to provide a world-class customer experience North of 60°.

Our 112 seat brewpub, The Woodyard Brewhouse & Eatery, is seeking a customer-oriented individual that has prior experience working in the service industry and understands the flow of a restaurant and the day-to-day operational demands. We are a family-run operation that has an incredibly diverse and inclusive group of staff that requires the right individual to integrate and help supervise our Front of House team to success. You must have a capacity to remain calm and motivate the team during stressful and busy times, all while managing and coordinating the flow of service with the Back of House in a fast-paced environment. Finding a balance between people and processes must be at the forefront of all decision making. Ultimately, the Service Supervisor will assist the company General Manager & Assistant GM in the efficient and smooth running of the restaurant.

This is a part-time position ~2 shifts/ week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assist the AGM with interviewing, hiring and training all Front of House positions

-Supervise Front of House staff and oversee the implementation of customer service standards and policies of the restaurant outlined in our Company Training Manual and Employee Handbook

-Monitor inventory levels and communicate restaurant and bar needs for weekly ordering

-Depending on the shift, you will ensure the restaurant is set up and ready for service including opening duties OR ensure the proper closing of the restaurant including cashing out, locking up etc.

-Fill in other Front of House roles where necessary including bartending, serving, auxiliary support and runner when operationally required

-Assist the AGM in creating interactive training for the team and provide ongoing support and training for staff

-Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to ensure proper standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained

-Check on dining customers to enquire about food quality and service.

-Maximize customer satisfaction and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and professional manner.

-Motivate and uplift staff during stressful/busy times

-Manage the restaurants good image and suggest ways to improve it

-Identify ways to decrease the restaurant's operational costs

-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Proven restaurant experience preferably as a lead server or supervisor

-Ability to work in a high volume fast pace restaurant

-Strong leadership skills

-Flexibility

-Proven ability to work unsupervised

-Strong attention to detail

-Willingness to work evenings, late nights and/or weekends

-English: fluent.

-Excellent and pro-active communicator

-Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

-Assets: Bar experience, craft beer knowledge, management experience

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
