About the Role:

MetOcean are seeking a full-time New Business Account Representative to join their sales team. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the NBAR is a self-motivated and driven professional who will represent the company at various international trade shows, be focused on developing new business, growing our international partner network, and managing strategic accounts.

You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new opportunities by connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. This role focuses on expanding market presence through strategic partnerships, client acquisition, and long-term relationship management.

Compensation Plan:

Base: Starting at $90,000 (increasing up to $100,000 based on experience)

Variable: 25%-100% or $20-50,000 (Uncapped)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop strategic growth plans aligned with company objectives and emerging industry trends.
  • Represent MetOcean at industry events and trade shows
  • Lead the full sales cycle – from prospecting and solution development to
  • Negotiation and contract close on deals from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  • Close 1-2 New Business opportunities per month
  • Meet or exceed revenue and growth targets while maintaining accurate forecasting.
  • Support, maintain, and identify growth opportunities within existing relationships and accounts
  • Identify and research competitors, understanding their offerings and our unique value proposition.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Partner with product management and engineering to align offerings with market needs.
  • Provide feedback on client requirements, technology trends, and competitive positioning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of proven international business development and relationship building experience.
  • Proven track record of closing complex, high-value technical deals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Available to travel a minimum of 1-week per month, potentially increasing to 2-weeks (approx. 75% within North America and 25% international).
  • Experience in the Ocean Tech, Satellite, or Environmental sector is considered an asset.
