Master Flo Valve Inc. is currently seeking a full-time permanent Account Manager, Technical Sales to work in Calgary, AB.

The Account Manager will manage and grow accounts for MFV along with pursuing new customers in Calgary and surrounding area. This position will be selling to end users, OEM’s, engineering firms, distributors, valve repair shops and Stream-Flo service centers within Southern Alberta, including Calgary as well as Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility to promote Master Flo chokes and control valves, and Stream-Flo ESDs, and solution selling for specific applications
  • Maintain existing client base and develop new contacts. Perform sales calls and follow-up as required to maintain and grow accounts in all areas of business
  • Accountable to sales goals set by Management
  • Develop strong product knowledge to enable clear and concise presentations to customers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the market, the potential customer base, and the competition.
  • Ensure that proper market intelligence is done and complete details on the project conditions are supplied to inside sales (Edmonton) and the appropriate Calgary sales resource as early as possible to ensure the best efforts are made to submit the most effective proposal possible.
  • Provide input to supply management with details of market intelligence and recommendations.
  • Maintain and provide sales reports as required by the Canadian Sales Manager.
  • Provide input for monthly, quarterly, and yearly booking forecasts as required.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, general sales meetings and general industry functions as needed.
  • Prepare strategic project pursuit plans and update monthly or more frequently as required.
  • Make technical sales presentations utilizing the latest in computer and audio video equipment.
  • Provide technical and commercial product training to distributor channels, OEM’s, and end users within the assigned territory.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of sales experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Formal relevant technical education or equivalent of combined education and experience
  • Knowledge/experience with chokes and control valves is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of valve actuation and automation
  • General instrumentation background/ knowledge is preferred
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialized database programs.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is an asset
  • Must possess a valid Alberta Driver’s License (must provide a driver’s abstract)
  • Strong focus on customer service, and the ability to influence and persuade others to action
  • Team player with well-developed communications skills

Working Conditions & Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel within the assigned territory (southern AB and SK)
  • Overnight travel will be required
  • Mid to high dexterity and mobility for handling products
