Full job description

PEO Canada has been providing customized employer services to a wide variety of businesses for over 20 years. We provide our diverse clients with human resources consultation services and their Canadian employees with exceptional group benefits, retirement savings programs, workers’ compensation, and payroll services. Our teams are focused on, and empowered to create an exceptional experience for themselves, their teams and our valued client partners.

An open concept office, a welcoming team, great benefits, and regular in-office team building events are hallmarks of our company culture. We take customer service seriously and know that our teammates are just as important as our clients. We like asking and answering questions, and bringing fun to our conversation and activities. Our management team supports and encourages those who are eager to learn and improve, and have fostered an environment of open communication for our employees. We believe in maintaining a strong work/life balance so that we have the resources and energy we need both at work and in our daily lives.

If you are looking to expand the breadth of your HR knowledge, enjoy working in a busy team environment and are able to think outside of the box, this is the ideal position for you. PEO Canada provides a learning environment that allows team members to use the knowledge they have, and gain additional exposure and experience through consultation with our clients. In this role you will work in conjunction with our Human Resources team to support our valued clients. You will be required to learn, build upon and maintain current knowledge on provincial and federal employment legislation, human rights, contract law, and best practices as they relate to the Human Resources field.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of documents for clients relating to employee management
  • Support the development and finalization of employee policy and procedure manuals;
  • Administration of pre-employment screenings and invoice thereof;
  • Monitoring and communication of SIN expiration dates and contract term employment periods for our clients’ employees;
  • Preparation and delivery of reports and client data.

The role is focused on supporting our HR Team and clients through collaborative service, accurate documentation and great attention to detail. Communication is the key to each successful engagement within our teams and with our clients. If you have the confidence to ask questions and get curious with the answers you receive we welcome your interest in this position.

We are looking for candidates that have 6 months to 1 year of progressive administrative experience in an HR-focused position and are looking to develop their knowledge and skills. Beginner to intermediate knowledge and experience in Canadian Legislation including inter-provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights is required. Completion of a post-secondary education in HR (or equivalent) from a recognized institution is preferred. Bilingual English/French would be considered an asset.

Only candidates being considered for interviews will be contacted. PEO Canada offers a competitive total compensation package based on relevant experience.
