The Opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic Assistant Operations Manager to support day-to-day café operations and help implement operational refinements as we scale the Fenyk Coffee & Social brand. Working closely with the Operations Manager, this is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves working with people, and is eager to grow their leadership skills while helping drive both the guest experience and operational excellence.
You’ll report to the Operations Manager to help develop, refine, and implement systems, support and mentor teams, and uphold the high standards and welcoming atmosphere that Fenyk is known for. This is an ideal role for someone ready to build toward a seniorleadership position in a rapidly growing company, where your work will directly shape the future of the brand.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Excellence
- Support daily operations to ensure smooth execution, efficiency, and consistent quality, and step in to lead the floor in the Operations Manager’s absence.
- Lead by example on the floor, actively working alongside your team to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Help monitor and maintain service standards to ensure every guest feels welcomed, valued, and connected.
Growth & System Development
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to build scalable systems and workflows that can be replicated across future locations.
- Assist in creating and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and franchise readiness.
- Follow store upkeep programs and preventative maintenance practices for optimal performance.
People & Culture
- Help mentor, train, and inspire team members, fostering a culture of accountability, warmth, and excellence.
- Reinforce clear expectations, provide feedback, and help build a high-performing, engaged team.
- Champion Fenyk’s core values: community-first mindset, inclusivity, and exceptional hospitality.
Business Operations & Performance
- Assist with inventory levels, ordering, waste reduction, and cost-control strategies to support profitability.
- Support scheduling, payroll, and staffing plans to ensure appropriate coverage during peak hours.
- Help track KPIs, prepare operational reports, and identify areas for improvement to support leadership decision-making.
- Contribute to marketing and brand initiatives by ensuring daily operations align with Fenyk’s customer experience goals.
What We’re Looking For

- Experienced in hospitality, café, or restaurant environments, with a growing track record of operational excellence and an eagerness to advance into a management role.
- A hands-on leader who leads from the floor, inspires confidence, and builds trust with staff.
- Skilled in systems thinking; you can balance immediate operational needs with scalable solutions for future growth.
- Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and able to create a positive, productive work environment.
- Comfortable assisting with vendor management, store maintenance, and creating operational efficiencies.
- An excellent communicator, trainer, and motivator with strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Passionate about community, quality, and building a meaningful guest experience.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Barista skills or willingness to quickly learn and master Fenyk’s coffee and beverage program.
- Experience working in multi-location operations or franchise systems.
- Strong interest in brand building and hospitality innovation.
