THE POSITION:

We are looking for a high energy, highly organized, innovative and self-motivated team mate to join our Multi Family division. We have multiple projects in the Calgary area and require a Multi Family Site Supervisor with at least 5 years’ experience in underground and above grade concrete structures along with multi-story wood framed buildings. The successful candidate will have completed a minimum of 5 projects with underground concrete parking structures preferably in the Calgary or Western Canadian marketplace. The candidate must have a good understanding of the current multi family market conditions for prices and trade base for the Calgary area, having completed jobs on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress; prepare reports; plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations, business equipment, quality control and site safety.

Work very closely with the Project manager to ensure pre-construction, construction documents, scopes of work, are completed accurately and efficiently.

  • Manage Trade Partners and Suppliers to ensure they are meeting our expectations of quality, production, safety and contractual obligations
  • Ensure construction budgets, timelines and quality standards are met or exceeded
  • Ensure Site Safety rules and codes of conduct are followed on a daily basis
  • Communicate with Municipal Staff as required
  • Value Engineer development projects pre-and throughout construction
  • Anticipate and forecast issues and developing contingency plans
  • Actively seek new ways of working to improve productivity
  • Ensure that all job and development sites clean, orderly, safe, and running effectively and remain on time and on budget.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, General Manager, Project Owner, Safety Officer, and the Team of Contractors and Trade Partners on site as required, managing and updating them regularly to guarantee the project’s success
  • Ensure the site complies with all OHS requirements, work rules and regulation
  • Compile and maintain all required paperwork, electronic records and documents
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in company directives
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed

Use a proactive approach to planning & site organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of various software including Excel, Word, Outlook, Smartsheets and Bluebeam
  • High aptitude for learning, ideally with future career aspirations to move up in the company
  • Ability to operate some site equipment
  • Ability to physically work when required to do so
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Effective typing, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting contract requirements
  • Goal-oriented, work well under pressure and can meet demanding deadlines
  • Strong client service skills with a focus on client satisfaction
