Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Warehouse Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading shipping containers and warehouse operations, including crate building, shipping and receiving, and forklift operation. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes, mechanical knowledge, woodworking knowledge. The Warehouse Operator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth logistics flow and maintaining safety standards within the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment including forklifts, daily wood crating and carpentry, and transporting materials safely.
  • Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
  • Perform order picking and packing to fulfill customer orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Assist in inventory management through stock counting, cycle counts, and organization of warehouse space.
  • Support manufacturing or construction-related tasks as needed, including heavy lifting and material handling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols by recognizing potential hazards around heavy equipment and work areas.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks or containers while adhering to safety standards.

Skills

  • Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to auto equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and shipping & receiving procedures.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for order fulfillment accuracy.
  • Construction or manufacturing experience is a plus for handling diverse material types.
  • Knowledge of packaging techniques to ensure safe transportation of goods.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
