The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Custom Cabinet Maker/Millworker to join our team. This is a key role that ensures the fabrication of high-quality custom cabinetry, millwork and architectural woodwork. This position requires strong technical woodworking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret design drawings and specifications to produce precise, high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications and prepare cut lists.
• Build, manage and assemble custom millwork, cabinet boxes, and other custom pieces.
• Plan and manage production tasks to make efficient use of time and equipment.
• Set up and operate standard woodworking machinery equipment, with precision and safety, to produce components according to drawings.
• Work with different materials including engineered wood products, veneers, laminates and fine hardwoods.
• Verify compliance of produced components against drawings or design documents.
• Assemble components into completed units using fasteners, adhesives, biscuits, dominoes, pocket screwing and joinery techniques.
• Prepare surfaces for finishing department.
• Best practices for sanding including but not limited to veneer/solid surfaces.
• Participate in training of apprentices and junior employees.

Skills, Education and Experience Requirements:

• Current Journey Person's Cabinetmaker's Certificate OR
• Certificate of Apprenticeship, Cabinetmaker /Joinery OR
• 4+ years of experience as a Custom Cabinetmaker, preferably in a commercial environment
• Proficiency in interpreting shop and architectural drawings
• Strong knowledge and proficiency with shop practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, quality control, and safety equipment.
• Solid surface, wood composites and veneers experience on asset
• Strong work ethic, with a dedication to quality craftsmanship
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Contribute to continuous improvement
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of safe working methods and practices, and follows them
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
• Valid BC Drivers License and reliable transportation

• Daily targets and production deadlines are assigned to meet our commitments to customers

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Compressed work schedule with every 2nd Friday off, as structured below.
• Week 1 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (44 hours);
• Week 2 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Friday off (36 hours), allowing employees a three-day weekend every other week.
