As an Accounting Clerk at Windermere House, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. You will be responsible for various accounting and clerical tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data Entry and Record Keeping:

· Accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll data.

· Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and spreadsheets.

Invoicing and Billing:

· Prepare and process invoices, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.

· Address customer inquiries regarding invoices and resolve any discrepancies.

Bank Reconciliation:

· Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

· Assist in processing payments to suppliers and vendors.

· Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and prepare reports.

Expense Tracking:

· Track and categorize business expenses, ensuring adherence to company policies.

Financial Reporting:

· Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Administrative Support:

· Provide general administrative support to the finance department, such as filing, scanning, and document organization.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety and its regulations by:

  • Follows safe work procedures as outlined in departmental policy and procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Attends information sessions (safety talks, staff meetings, etc.)
  • Reports all incidents, injuries, and accidents to manager on duty immediately.
  • Attends employee training.
  • Knows and complies with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Ministry of Labour
  • Is aware of all sections of the Health and Safety Manual, and Employee Handbook

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role is an advantage.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

It is imperative for the Accounting Clerk to have an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, due to the constant contact with clients and other members of the team. Fluency in other languages would be beneficial, should a situation arise that calls for its use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The environment that the accounting clerk works in can become stressful and fast paced during certain times of the year.

· Sitting required at most times.

· Most work tasks are performed indoors.

· Exposed to a high amount of screen time.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
