Compensation: $750–$1,100/week (base pay plus per photo pay, based on output)
License Required: Basic Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada)
Job Description:
AFS Aerial Photography Inc., a leader in rural aerial photography for over 67 years, is seeking a drone pilot to join our seasonal team. This is a unique opportunity to travel Alberta capturing high-quality drone images of rural properties and farmland.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate a company-provided drone to capture aerial photographs in rural locations
- Work independently in the field, flying during all good-weather days
- Travel regionally for up to 3 months
- Capture and upload photographs according to company standards and schedules
- Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with Transport Canada drone regulations
Qualifications:
- Basic Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada) — Required
- Post-secondary diploma (drone, aviation, photography, or geography-related) — Preferred
- Prior drone photography experience — Preferred
- Clean Criminal Record Check — Required
- Must be comfortable with extended travel and working independently
Compensation & Perks:
- Base plus per photo Pay — average $750–$1,100/week
- All equipment, travel, gas, and accommodations provided
Contract Duration:
- 3 months of travel (July – September 30 or as weather permits)

- Approximately how many total flight hours do you have operating drones?

- Do you currently hold a valid Basic Drone Pilot Certificate issued by Transport Canada?
- Preference is given to applicants aged 21+ due to car rental policies and underage fees.
