Job Title: Drone Pilot – Aerial Photography (Contract)

Location: Travel Alberta
Job Type: Contract (3 months)
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: $750–$1,100/week (base pay plus per photo pay, based on output)
License Required: Basic Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada)

Job Description:

AFS Aerial Photography Inc., a leader in rural aerial photography for over 67 years, is seeking a drone pilot to join our seasonal team. This is a unique opportunity to travel Alberta capturing high-quality drone images of rural properties and farmland.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate a company-provided drone to capture aerial photographs in rural locations
  • Work independently in the field, flying during all good-weather days
  • Travel regionally for up to 3 months
  • Capture and upload photographs according to company standards and schedules
  • Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with Transport Canada drone regulations

Qualifications:

  • Basic Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada) — Required
  • Post-secondary diploma (drone, aviation, photography, or geography-related) — Preferred
  • Prior drone photography experience — Preferred
  • Clean Criminal Record Check — Required
  • Must be comfortable with extended travel and working independently

Compensation & Perks:

  • Base plus per photo Pay — average $750–$1,100/week
  • All equipment, travel, gas, and accommodations provided

Contract Duration:

  • 3 months of travel (July – September 30 or as weather permits)

  • Do you have a valid Canadian driver’s license?
  • Approximately how many total flight hours do you have operating drones?

  • Do you currently hold a valid Basic Drone Pilot Certificate issued by Transport Canada?
  • Preference is given to applicants aged 21+ due to car rental policies and underage fees.

  • This role involves up to 3 months of Alberta travel. Are you available to work continuously from July to end of September, traveling full-time across Western Canada either without returning home during that period, or on a 6 week on 1 week off rotation?

  • Drone operation: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
