Line Cook (Daytime Brunch Service)

What a Bagel | 827 St. Clair Ave. West

If you enjoy working in a busy kitchen, take pride in your food, and like finishing your day before dinner service even begins, we’d like to meet you.

What a Bagel is one of Toronto’s busiest breakfast and lunch restaurants. We serve high volumes without compromising quality, and we’re looking for a dependable line cook who can keep pace, stay organized, and work well with the team.

This is a daytime position with no late nights. We value people who show up on time, care about consistency, and take ownership of their station.

Schedule

  • Wednesday through Sunday
  • Start at 6:30 AM
  • Latest shift ends by 5:00 PM
  • Full-time

Compensation

  • Starting at $20/hour
  • $21/hour after successful training
  • Additional wage increase after 3 months based on performance

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare breakfast and lunch menu items with speed and consistency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station
  • Follow recipes and customer modifications accurately
  • Work closely with the kitchen team during busy service
  • Uphold high standards for food quality, presentation, and food safety

  • Has previous line cook or kitchen experience
  • Stays calm and focused during busy rushes
  • Takes pride in clean, organized work
  • Is reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute every shift
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively
  • Wants to improve and take ownership of their role
