Full job description

Health, Safety & Fleet Coordinator

Integrated Geomatics is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing surveying, geomatics, environmental consulting, GIS, regulatory, and engineering services across Western Canada. We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Fleet Coordinator to independently manage and improve our HSE program while overseeing fleet, equipment, asset, and safety-equipment administration. This role requires a safety professional who has managed a complete HSE program and can work with limited day-to-day technical HSE direction.

This position is responsible for the company’s HSE management system and Certificate of Recognition, or COR, program, while also coordinating records, maintenance, assignments, and planning for vehicles, trailers, ATVs, field equipment, and safety equipment. You will work with project managers, field crews, environmental professionals, survey staff, and leadership to keep people, vehicles, equipment, and operations safe, compliant, and ready for project delivery.

This is not a developmental safety position. Candidates must demonstrate previous responsibility for independently managing a complete HSE program.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Manage and continuously improve the company’s HSE management system, including policies, procedures, safe work practices, JSAs, hazard assessments, forms, occupational health and safety requirements, and required program updates.
  • Maintain HSE document control and records management, including version control, required forms, training records, audit evidence, inspection records, incident documentation, and compliance records.
  • Complete onboarding, deliver orientations, provide selected safety training, track competencies, manage employee safety tickets with follow-up, and support project or client-specific safety requirements.
  • Plan and facilitate safety meetings, field inspections, worksite audits, observations, emergency-response planning, exercises, documentation, follow-up, and employee-engagement activities.
  • Coordinate COR audit preparation, evidence, gap reviews, employee preparation, auditor requirements, corrective actions, management reviews, post-audit follow-up, and organized audit records.
  • Lead incident, near-miss, workplace injury, and vehicle-incident investigations, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, effectiveness checks, trends, safety alerts, and insurance or client reporting where applicable.
  • Administer contractor and client compliance systems, including ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, prequalification submissions, subcontractor records, client audits, and outstanding compliance requirements.

Fleet and Equipment Management

  • Maintain safety-related fleet and equipment records, including inspections, registrations, insurance, licensing, service history, condition, deployment readiness, PPE, emergency equipment, satellite communication devices, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, calibration, replacements, rentals, purchases, disposals, warranty work, seasonal readiness, return-to-service requirements, and readiness for field deployment.
  • Maintain fleet and equipment inventories, assignments, locations, chain-of-custody records, utilization tracking, GPS/telematics, fuel cards, driver qualification files, abstract reviews, cost reporting, and driver-behaviour monitoring.
  • Coordinate vehicle incidents, insurance claims, damage records, corrective actions, equipment audits, missing or unreturned equipment follow-up, and annual fleet and equipment planning.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible HSE experience, including independent management of a complete HSE program.
  • Experience preparing for COR audits, working with external auditors, and maintaining audit evidence.
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting field-based operations.
  • Practical experience with safety meetings, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, field inspections, training records, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong document-control, reporting, recordkeeping, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across operational teams, using Microsoft 365 and digital record-management systems.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and ability to travel to Alberta field locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Safety designation, related training, or progress toward certification is preferred, provided it is supported by practical experience managing a complete HSE program.
  • Experience with SiteDocs, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, fleet telematics, contractor-management systems, or asset-tracking applications.
  • Experience in consulting, surveying, environmental services, engineering, energy, or similar field-based operations.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance, equipment inventories, or asset lifecycle planning.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation, extended health and dental benefits, and RRSP matching.
  • Professional development, training support, and a flexible working environment.
  • Opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and improve company-wide safety, fleet, and equipment systems.
  • Career progression potential into a Health, Safety & Fleet Manager role as the company grows.

If you are an experienced safety professional who values practical leadership, strong systems, operational accountability, and well-managed field resources, we would like to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience independently managing an HSE program, supporting COR audits, and coordinating fleet or equipment systems.
