BeshayMD Clinic is a solo‑practitioner clinic specializing in advanced cardiovascular risk assessment, preventive cardiology, clinical lipidology, chronic disease management and cardiovascular imaging. We are committed to evidence‑based care and long‑term cardiovascular risk reduction, with a strong focus on patient education.

Our main office is in Welland, Ontario, however we also have 2 satellite offices in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, Ontario where we see patients and do nuclear cardiology services.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated International Medical Graduate (IMG) Clinical Assistant to support our specialist. This role focuses on chart preparation, comprehensive history‑taking, EMR documentation and patient follow‑up.

This position provides an invaluable opportunity for aspiring healthcare professionals to develop essential skills while supporting outpatient cardiovascular services in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chart preparation & pre‑visit review: Review patient records before appointments.
  • Interact with patients, assist with triage and coordinate their healthcare.
  • Patient history intake: Build rapport, follow standard forms and ask thorough questions about past illnesses, surgeries and current medications without offering medical advice.
  • EMR documentation: Update patient charts (history, allergies, treatment plans) and review lab results, imaging reports and progress notes; organize documents and use standardized templates to minimize errors.
  • Communication & follow‑up: Help physician with follow-up phone calls, arrange diagnostic testing and record all patient communications in the EMR.
  • Medication reconciliation & renewals: Conduct medication reconciliation during medical interviews or by phone using clinic protocols; identify omissions, outdated prescriptions or discrepancies and flag issues for the physician. Coordinate prescription renewals and pharmacy requests.

Qualifications

  • International Medical Graduate (MD degree from a recognized school).
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • At least 1–2 years of clinical experience; familiarity with cardiovascular or internal medicine is an asset.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and comfortable with medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented and able to multitask in a fast‑paced clinic.
  • Interest in cardiovascular medicine, lipidology and preventive care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
