About the Job

Marcon Metalfab (www.marconmetalfab.com) is hiring a Structural Steel Detailer to join our growing and dynamic company based in Delta’s Tilbury Park.

Duties include:

  • Produce detailed shop and erection drawings for miscellaneous structural, transportation, marine, mining and utilities, as well as architectural steel products required for the construction of residential and commercial projects.
  • Ensure final drawings and documents meet the requirements of the project specifications, contract drawings, and clients’ needs, as well as the company’s standards and all fabrication limitations.
  • Be required to have communication between other Detailers, Project Managers, Fabrication Staff, Installation Crew as well as various construction and engineering companies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
  • Experience preparing and checking detailed plans shop drawings, bills of material, and other documents for the manufacture and erection of steel members and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of both AISC & CISC standards
  • A thorough understanding of steel fabrication including welding, sheet metal forming techniques, cnc and dxf files.
  • Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, and familiarity with Structural steel 3D Modeling software
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge relevant to the structural steel industry.
  • Organized with a high level of communication both written and verbal.
  • Strong design knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Possesses excellent people skills, is a good communicator, and is a motivational leader.
  • A proactive and logical thinker who takes the initiative to solve problems early.
  • Capable of performing your duties with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking and workflow prioritizing.
