Field Welder / Installer

PK Metal Works is a well-established Metal fabrication shop that has been in business for the past 20 years.

We supply our employees with all the proper materials and shop supplies such as coveralls, gloves, safety glasses and have a fully stocked storeroom. We are looking for a dependable/reliable field welder who can work well with and without supervision to join our team. This role will be involved in a combination of shop and field work, including working in our metal fabrication shop and installing structural steel for our installation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Work from mobile elevated work platforms, booms, scissor lifts, etc.
  • Position steel, align holes, and connect steel.
  • Prepare materials prior to assembly
  • Rig, hoist, align and secure steel by bolting or welding methods
  • Erect steel for structural steel buildings and/or Pre-Eng metal buildings.

· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for fuse metal segments using these processes: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) (stick welding) and flux cred arc welding (FCAW).

The ideal candidate will have CWB SMAW/FCAW all position ticket combined with 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry working with Structural Steel and miscellaneous. A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to lift items in excess of 50 lbs. Reliable, punctual, with excellent communication are essentials. You will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and must be comfortable working at heights with power tools.

Valid driver’s license to get to job sites.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
