Job Summary

TIW WESTERN Inc. is a well-established Calgary-based manufacturing company and a recognized leader in supplying heat transfer and combustion equipment.

We are currently seeking experienced B-Pressure Welders with strong TIG experience to join our fabrication shop team. Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for accurately fabricating components in a safe, efficient, and quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions as directed by the Supervisor or Lead Hand
  • Ensure all work meets company tolerances and specifications
  • Perform welding using GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW (Stick), and MCAW processes
  • Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform fitting and welding tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Alberta Journeyman Welding Certificate (required)
  • B-Pressure Welding Certificate (required)
  • Minimum 5 years of pressure piping welding experience (asset)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and welding procedures (WPS)
  • Experience operating shop equipment (overhead cranes, forklifts, manlifts, rigging)
  • Advanced TIG welding skills considered an asset
  • Ability to TIG weld using both hands is considered a strong asset

Welding Test Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete a practical weld test, including:

  • 3” Sch 80 roll weld – MIG/TIG root with metal core fill and cap
  • 3” Sch 80 5G position weld in a custom jig – TIG (all passes)
  • 3” Sch 80 6G position weld – TIG (if the 5G test in the custom jig is not successfully completed)

Wages and Benefits

· TIW Western Inc. provides competitive rates and benefits package in a safe, progressive environment.

· This is a fulltime position on a 4 days per week x 10 hours per day schedule, from Monday to Thursday. Occasional overtime may be available.

TIW Western Inc. welcomes applications from qualified candidates across Canada. Candidates currently residing outside Alberta who are willing to relocate to the Calgary area are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance may be considered for exceptional candidates based on experience and qualifications.
