Welder / Fabricator – 2 Positions Available

About Us

LifeLong Fabrication is a locally owned and rapidly growing company in Grande Prairie. We primarily perform service work on drilling rigs, including custom fabrication, field repairs, structural work, and equipment modifications. We pride ourselves on reliability, strong workmanship, and safe, efficient service in demanding field environments.

Position 1: Shop Welder/Fabricator Responsibilities:

  • TIG welding aluminum (required)
  • MIG and stick welding
  • Fabrication, layout, cutting, and assembly
  • Reading and interpreting drawings
  • Working closely with the mobile welder to build parts from field-generated sketches
  • Producing accurate, high-quality components for drilling rig repairs and upgrades
  • Keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe

Requirements:

  • Strong TIG aluminum welding experience
  • MIG and stick welding experience
  • Ability to read and build from drawings
  • Fabrication skills (cutting, grinding, forming, fitting)
  • High attention to detail
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently

Schedule:

Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Position 2: Mobile Welder/FabricatorResponsibilities:

  • On-site drilling rig service work, repairs, and fabrication
  • Stick welding (required)
  • Creating accurate drawings/sketches based on customer requests or on-site needs
  • Communicating build requirements clearly to the shop welder
  • Taking precise measurements and translating them into workable shop drawings
  • Operating a service truck and mobile equipment
  • Providing strong customer service and working independently on remote sites

Requirements:

  • Proficient in stick welding
  • Ability to create clear, accurate hand-drawn sketches
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Field-repair or rig-service experience is an asset

Schedule:

On-call 24/7 (rig service work as needed)
