Welder Position Available

Location: Calgary, Alberta (Applicants must currently reside in Alberta)
Wage: $28–$40 per hour (Based on experience, skill set, and certifications)

Humfrey Industrial Repairs is a machining, fabrication, and welding facility with over 60 years in the industry. We offer steady, diverse work in a well-established shop environment where skilled tradespeople can build long-term careers and continue advancing their expertise.

We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Welder. This is not an entry-level or production-only position. We are looking for a skilled professional with strong repair and heavy industrial experience.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on industrial welding experience.
  • Proficient in Stick, TIG, and MIG welding.
  • Experience in heavy equipment repair, oil & gas, mining, plant maintenance, or industrial repair environments.
  • Proven repair welding experience (not production-only welding).
  • Ability to weld aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and perform brazing.
  • Experience repairing worn, cracked, or fatigued components.
  • Knowledge of proper weld preparation, preheat, post-heat, and distortion control.
  • Experience with buildup, hard facing, and structural reinforcement.
  • Air arc gouging and torch cutting experience.
  • Strong fabrication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong measuring and layout skills (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Mechanical awareness of tolerances, alignment, runout, and how welding impacts machining.
  • Ability to work closely with machinists and complete jobs accurately.
  • Capable of working independently, including occasional job-site repairs.
  • Strong commitment to safety, organization, and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.

Additional Preferred Assets

  • Valid CWB Certification.
  • B Pressure Welding Certification.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Welder certification.
  • Additional welding tickets or multi-process/multi-position certifications.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview. Successful applicants may be required to complete a practical weld test to demonstrate skill level and workmanship standards.
