Full job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Broadhead Industrial is hiring two permanent, full-time journey-person field machinists for multiple oil sands sites.

PAY RATE:$55 - 80/hour

Monthly Living allowance included

LOCATION:Field Position – Various Oil Sands sites in the Fort McMurray Area

TRANSPORTATION: Accommodation will be provided.

SHIFT: 14 days on, 14 days off, 12-hour days.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, permanent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings to determine methods and sequences of operations to repair mobile mining and heavy equipment.
  • Operate machine tools such as: portable align-boring equipment, facing heads & flange facers, magnetic based drills, and mobile milling machines.
  • Operate machine tools powered with electric, air, and hydraulic.
  • Operate service truck in compliance with all on and off-road mine driving rules and safe operating procedures.
  • Machinists must be able to determine dimensions to perform machining operations by measuring existing and new parts when engineered drawing or specifications are not available.
  • Follow Safe Work Procedures and ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Alberta Journey-Person or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification with 4 years field machining experience.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Successfully completed comprehensive pre-employment Drug, Alcohol, and Audio testing.
  • Must be physically able to fulfil all duties. The role involves extensive walking, carrying heavy materials, climbing and being in awkward positions.
  • Eligible to work on all Oil Sand sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
  • Must have own accommodation and transportation within the region.
  • Successful applicate must be able to work in both a shop and field environment sometimes in extreme cold temperatures.
  • Welding experience would be an asset.
  • Strong self-starter, enthusiastic team player.
