About the Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Journeyman Welder or a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Welder to join our growing team. This is a full-time position for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, values safety, and enjoys working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of fabrication and welding projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship and efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Perform welding using FCAW, MCAW, GMAW (MIG), TIG, and SMAW (stick) processes.
  • Complete welds in multiple positions while meeting quality specifications.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Fit, fabricate, and assemble steel components to project requirements.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.

What We're Looking For

  • Journeyman Welder certification or registration as a 2nd or 3rd year Alberta Welding Apprentice.
  • At least three years of practical welding experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Strong welding abilities using FCAW, MCAW, and GMAW in all welding positions.
  • Ability to successfully complete a practical weld assessment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with others.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:

  • Handrail fabrication
  • Tube bending
  • Aluminum TIG welding
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
