Medical Lab Technician/Medical Assistant (Onsite Occupational Health)

Locations: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Hamilton, and surrounding regions within Ontario

Join WMC's Growing Occupational Health Team

WMC is seeking a skilled and reliable Medical Laboratory Technician /Medical Assistant to join our expanding Occupational Health Services team. This role is ideal for a healthcare professional who enjoys working independently, travelling to client locations, and making a direct impact on employee health and wellness across a variety of industries.

As part of our onsite screening team, you will deliver occupational health testing and assessments at client workplaces throughout the GTA, Hamilton, and surrounding areas. Every day offers something different, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy variety, flexibility, and working in a mobile environment.

What You'll Do

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Venipuncture and specimen collection (minimum 3 years of blood collection experience required)
  • Pulmonary function testing, including calibration
  • Audiometric testing
  • Vision screening
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Mask Fit Testing
  • Vital signs assessment (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
  • Urinalysis
  • Accurate documentation and maintenance of testing records
  • Providing professional and exceptional service to our clients and participants

Previous experience with occupational health testing is considered an asset but is not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Laboratory Technician certification
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience performing blood draws/venipuncture
  • Valid G driver's licence
  • Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to client locations
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting occupational health screenings
  • Comfort travelling throughout Ontario
  • Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or overnight assignments when required

Important Information About This Role

This position supports onsite occupational health programs that fluctuate based on client demand. As a result, hours can vary throughout the year. We are looking for individuals who value flexibility and want to be part of a growing organization with increasing opportunities for additional assignments over time.

Occasional overnight travel may be available for certain projects. Overnight travel is not required but would be considered an asset.
