Important Location & Commuting Information

This position is based at our facility in Canmore, Alberta. All shifts start and finish in Canmore.

As our Delivery Drivers spend the majority of their workday on the road, driver safety and fatigue management are extremely important to us. A daily commute from Calgary to Canmore is not compatible with this position.

We are therefore only considering candidates who currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of Canmore or who have already independently secured accommodation in the area.

Valbella does not provide staff housing or relocation assistance.

Hello! We’re Valbella Gourmet Foods – a traditional European meat processing facility and café nestled in the heart of the Bow Valley in Canmore. About the Job

Every role at Valbella is important to our purpose of delivering the best quality experience and food to each customer. This is especially true of our Delivery Drivers, who fill a role that is critical to the success of our business.

By delivering finished products to customers and ensuring the delivery truck is maintained in proper working order, the Delivery Driver completes the sales process and allows everyone’s hard work to be shared with our customers.

Our drivers operate out of our Canmore facility and make deliveries and pickups throughout Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore and Banff. Because this position involves a significant amount of professional driving throughout the workday, we take driver safety and fatigue management seriously.

A successful Delivery Driver will:

• Be responsible for delivering time-sensitive, refrigerated goods to Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore and Banff
• Be responsible for various pickups around Calgary
• Handle loading and unloading the truck
• Make weekly garbage and recycling runs
• Keep the truck clean and in good condition
• Be responsible for ensuring regular truck maintenance is scheduled and completed
• Enjoy working alone
• Have a strong knowledge of Calgary’s layout

Required Certifications and Experience

• Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Prior delivery driving experience
• Able to comfortably operate a large 5-ton truck in demanding situations
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack
• Must currently live within reasonable commuting distance of Canmore or have already secured accommodation in the area
