### About the job

A.G WHITE TECHNICAL SERVICES INC. is seeking an experienced **Marine Sanitary & Water Systems Mechanic** to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on **naval vessels** while alongside. About **90% of work** is on shipboard systems, including:

- Black and grey water **vacuum collection systems**

- Black and grey water **treatment systems**

- **Fresh water** treatment, storage, and distribution systems

- **Reverse osmosis (RO) water maker** systems

This is a **shore-based contractor** role (not ship’s crew). We are an established Nova Scotia marine technical services company, authorized service representatives for major marine system manufacturers.

### Key responsibilities

- Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on naval vessel sanitary and water systems (pumps, valves, piping, treatment units, RO skids, controls).

- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and manufacturer/naval technical documentation.

- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical components: pumps, valves, strainers, pressure vessels, dosing systems, and associated piping.

- Adjust, overhaul, and replace defective parts; fabricate simple components and adapt fittings as required.

- Test and verify system performance after maintenance or repair (flushing, disinfection support, pressure/flow checks).

- Complete service reports, work logs, and documentation of inspections, repairs, and parts used.

- Follow all safety, environmental, and naval/shipyard procedures (confined space, LOTO, hot work, etc.).

### Qualifications

- Marine engineer/mechanic, or related apprenticeship; or equivalent experience.

- Significant experience with any of the following is highly desired:

- Marine/industrial sanitary or sewage systems (vacuum or gravity)

- Water treatment (filtration, disinfection, chemical dosing)

- Reverse osmosis or desalination equipment

- Shipboard or offshore piping and pump systems

- Experience on **naval vessels**, other ships, or in a shipyard/defence marine environment is strongly preferred.

- Able to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.

- Valid driver’s licence; able to work at various berths/facilities as required.

- Strong safety focus; able to obtain any required site access/security clearance.
