Job Overview

We are seeking a counter person who will also be shipper and receiver for a fairly new business,

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the counter by providing product information, processing sales transactions, and managing order requests with a positive attitude.
  • Prepare and package products accurately for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Load and unload trucks efficiently using equipment such as forklifts, or pallet jacks, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and AS400 software to track inventory levels, process orders, and update records in real-time.
  • Pick orders accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by managing stock levels, rotating inventory, and conducting regular audits.
  • Collaborate with shipping & receiving teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments while adhering to safety standards.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willing to call customer regarding sales
  • Must be reliable, Must show up every day 8-5 Monday to Friday

Skills

  • Prefer experience in warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, and load & unload procedures.
  • Ability to operate point of sale system
  • Ability to operate forklifts, safely and efficiently.
  • Strong basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and order calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer service at the counter and coordination with team members.
