Operations Assistant - Japanese Food Wholesale (Scarborough, ON)

$43,680–$50,000/year + Full Benefits

Location: Scarborough, Ontario (Hybrid office & warehouse & Customer Service)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $43,680 (starting amount based on experience) → $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Who We’re Looking For
Reliable, organized team player to help keep our Japanese food import/wholesale operation running smoothly in Scarborough.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Based on a routine drive to customers in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for sales and customer service related duties - Company covers gas expense and provides car allowances
  • Prepare invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents
  • Answer phones, and emails from customers
  • Receive shipments, check accuracy, update data in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Assist with scheduling and local deliveries
  • Light warehouse work: using pallet jacks, hand trucks, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs / 23 kg

What You Need to Succeed

  • 1–2 years of sales, office, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or operations experience (food industry is a bonus but not required)
  • Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets (basic formulas, sorting, VLOOKUP is enough)
  • Valid G class driver’s licence (or equivalent) and clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Fluent English (spoken and written); Cantonese or Mandarin is a big asset
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork – we’re a small, friendly team
