Full job description

Versante Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in Richmond and seeking a dedicated, professional, customer service-orientated Server, with fine dining experience, to join the Versante Restaurant team. The restaurant Server reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager and Restaurant Supervisor.Restaurant servers are responsible for submitting guest menu selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. Upselling of food and beverages options and ensuring dietary restrictions are met. Giving recommendations from our selection of menu food and beverage offerings. Their style and service attributes are keys to creating the guest experience. Other duties include general restaurant preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, make personal connections, and make every guest interaction and memorable experience
  • Take food and beverage orders and service the food
  • Set tables according to elevated service standards and number of guests
  • Answer questions regarding menu selections and making suggestions when required
  • Upselling of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the Culinary team
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food item and /or beverage is to the guest satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and entire restaurant throughout the shift
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, cashing-out with the restaurant's POS

Qualifications

  • BC Serving It Right certificate
  • Food Safe Level 1 certificate
  • Must be available to work various shifts which include weekdays, weekends and holidays based on business needs
  • Minimum one year serving experience in a hotel or restaurant setting
  • Knowledge and previous experience with POS system, Silverware is an asset
  • Must be polished and conduct professional communication skills at all times
  • Excellent team player and able to work with minimum supervision
  • In addition to restaurant duties, food delivery assistance may be required in other parts of the hotel based on business needs
  • Energetic personality and remain positive and professional at all times

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
