Full job description

Notre Dame Seafoods Inc. (NDS) requires a highly skilled and qualified individual to fill a key position within its Operations team. NDS operates a seafood processing facility located at Comfort Cove, NL, providing employment to more than 150 people, with its head office in St. John’s, NL.

Power Engineer (4th Class)

This is a seasonal position based in Comfort Cove, NL, and will report directly to the Chief Engineer.

The Power Engineer’s main responsibilities will be to operate automated or computerized control systems, monitor and inspect plant equipment and ensure plant equipment is operating at maximum efficiency. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting and performing corrective action/repairs to prevent equipment or system failure and maintaining a daily log of operations, maintenance and safety activities.

Applicants for this position must have experience in Ammonia Refrigeration supported by a diploma in Power Engineering (4th Class). Applicant must be certified as a 4th Class Power Engineer. Previous experience in the seafood industry would be an asset but is not essential.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
