Position Overview:

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and mature individual to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will join the Development team and will be responsible for developing websites using Wordpress and PHP/UX. along with performing Google search engine optimization.

This is a client facing position – a professional appearance and a strong command of the English language is mandatory.

This position is 6-month contract, in person only.

Criminal background check required.

Salary: competitive based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Development of websites using Wordpress and PHP;

- Work closely with client liaison to develop websites per client requirements;

- Use Google Search Engine Optimization tools to optimize website performance;

- Attend client meetings as needed;

- Create and update both end user and technical documentation for all assignments, projects, and existing service offerings, as required;

- Utilize our help desk software tool to track development issues;

- Track your time and submit timesheets on time each week;

- Follow-up and communicate with clients in a timely manner;

- Provide excellent customer service to clients at all times

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Programming from an accredited university;
• 2 years of practical experience as a website and UX developer

Qualifications and Skills:

Must have:

• Strong knowledge of WordPress and PHP
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JS, JQuery, JQuery Validation and Bootstrap Framework
• Strong knowledge of Google Search Console, Analytics, and website SEO strategies and best practices
• Nice to have: MVC .Net/.Net Core 2.0+ web development in C# and VB.Net, XML and JSON datasets
• Knowledge of SQL structured queries
• Web Security practices and protocols
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills;
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to convey information in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner;
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and think rationally;
• Ability to work well with others;
• Ability to multi-task with little supervision;
• Willingness to learn new technologies;
• Effective time management skills and ability to work with deadlines
