Who We Are
Linus Tech Tips is one of the world's most renowned and influential technology-focused YouTube channels and online communities. With millions of subscribers and a deep passion for all things tech, we are dedicated to providing our audience with informative, entertaining, and exciting content.
About the Role:
Employment: Full-Time
Location: Surrey, BC, Canada
Are you passionate about technology, news, YouTube, gaming, and building communities around great content? Linus Media Group (LMG) is looking for a Channel Manager to oversee and grow multiple LMG channels, including TechLinked, GameLinked, WAN Show, and LMG Clips. In this role, you’ll work with creative teams to deliver videos reliably while continually improving how we connect with viewers.
This role is responsible for keeping fast-moving channels organized and consistent. The Channel Manager will be responsible for managing a small team, while working closely with writers, editors, hosts, thumbnail artists, production, and business team to ensure each video is well-positioned, delivered on schedule, and aligned with audience expectations.
This role combines YouTube strategy, content packaging, analytics, team coordination, and hands-on production operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between creative feedback, daily logistics, metadata optimization, performance analysis, and people management.
As a Channel Manager, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Duties:
- Manage and support multi-channel writers through regular feedback, workload planning, and 1-on-1s.
- Own the day-to-day management and performance of assigned channels.
- Help grow assigned channels by identifying content opportunities, strengthening video packaging, and finding new ways to connect with our existing and potential audience.
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain publishing schedules across assigned channels.
- Work with writers, editors, hosts, thumbnail artists, and production teams to keep videos moving from idea to publish.
- Provide feedback on scripts, titles, thumbnails, video drafts, and overall packaging.
- Optimize videos for audience engagement, views, CTR, retention, and long-term channel growth.
- Monitor channel performance and audience feedback, then turn findings into clear recommendations.
- Coordinate recurring workflows for TechLinked, GameLinked, WAN Show, and LMG Clips.
- Ensure sponsor obligations, publishing details, and upload requirements are tracked and completed accurately.
- Maintain key planning tools and channel documentation.
- Stay current with YouTube trends, platform changes, audience behaviour, and relevant tech/gaming news.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading people, coordinating teams, or managing cross-functional creative work.
- Ability to give clear, constructive feedback to writers, editors, hosts, and creative collaborators.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing or growing YouTube channels, digital media brands, or online content platforms.
- Strong understanding of YouTube analytics, CTR, retention, watch time, metadata, and packaging strategy.
- Excellent editorial judgment, with the ability to identify strong topics, titles, thumbnails, and viewer hooks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple deadlines, channels, and stakeholders at once.
- High attention to detail, especially in publishing, sponsor execution, and public-facing content.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Passion for technology, gaming, online video, and internet culture.
Assets:
- Experience working directly with writers, editors, hosts, producers, or thumbnail artists.
- Experience with YouTube Studio, Floatplane, Airtable, shared production drives, or analytics dashboards.
- Experience managing daily or recurring content formats, particularly news-based.
- Basic video editing or thumbnail design knowledge.
- Experience with content ideation, creative direction, or editorial planning.
- Familiarity with consumer technology, PC hardware, gaming news, and the broader creator ecosystem.
Compensation:
For this position, the typical hiring salary base range falls between CAD$75,000 and $95,000 per year, based on market location and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and additional benefits, which together make up the total compensation package, in line with our company’s philosophy to recognize and reward employee contributions.
Job Perks
- Professional Development - Reimbursement of eligible skills development programs and courses.
- Health Coverage - Extended health benefits and dental plan, including extensive support for mental health.
- Paid Time Off - Paid personal leave as well as vacation time.
- Employee Wellness - Flexible schedules, frequent game nights, and exciting company outings.
- Phone Plan - A comprehensive phone plan for our employees.
- SWAG - Access to swag from lttstore.com, tech, and other goodies.
- Group Retirement Savings Plan - A generous employer matching plan for your retirement.

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, family status, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, political belief, or conviction of a criminal or summary conviction offence unrelated to employment.
