Compensation: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills

Western Canada Veterinary Eye Specialists in New Westminster, BC, is looking for a full-time RVT. We want to find an enthusiastic, fun and energetic technician who is willing to expand their anesthetic skills. The position includes a wide range of responsibilities and the opportunity to learn much about ophthalmology. We hope to find a person who likes to work in a small team, who thrives on taking on responsibilities and who has developed great communication skills. We are hoping to fill the position immediately.

  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
  • Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient assessment.
  • Ability to safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care.
  • Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
