Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM)

Galaxy Vets Urgent Care & Walk-In — Newfoundland

Opening Summer 2026

Galaxy Vets is expanding to Newfoundland — and we are looking for entrepreneurial veterinarians who want to help build something from the ground up.

Galaxy Vets is an employee-owned veterinary healthcare system created with one mission: to give veterinary medicine back to veterinary professionals. Our Newfoundland hospital will launch as an urgent care and walk-in facility focused on accessible, high-quality medicine, with plans for continued expansion in Phase 2, including advanced diagnostics and specialty-level capabilities such as CT imaging and additional emergency services.

This is more than a DVM position.
It is an opportunity to help shape a hospital, influence operations and culture, and grow alongside a rapidly evolving veterinary model.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

  • Participation in the Employee Ownership Trust
  • Profit-sharing opportunities
  • Base salary plus production
  • Leadership and growth opportunities within an expanding organization
  • The ability to help shape workflows, culture, and medical standards from the beginning
  • Continuing education allowance
  • Paid licensing and professional dues
  • Full medical and dental benefits
  • Staff discount

The Role

As part of the founding clinical team, you will:

  • Perform physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Manage urgent care and emergency cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform surgical procedures as needed
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop workflows and hospital processes
  • Contribute to team culture, mentorship, and operational growth
  • Help identify opportunities for service expansion and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for veterinarians who combine strong clinical skills with leadership potential and an ownership mindset.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduates from an accredited university
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Entrepreneurial and interested in the business side of veterinary medicine
  • Excited by leadership, mentorship, and hospital development
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and solutions-focused
  • Motivated to help build a high-performing and positive workplace culture
  • Interested in long-term growth within an evolving organization

Our Core Values

At Galaxy Vets, culture matters. We are building teams that align with our values:

  • Founder’s Mindset
  • Sees the Bigger Picture
  • Always Evolving
  • Lead with Integrity
  • Sense of Humour

Interested in Building Something Different?

If you are looking for more than just another associate role — and want the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing hospital and organization — we would love to connect.
