We Are Hiring!

Marketplace Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist/Veterinary Medical Assistant (VMA) to join our team

In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of our hospital while also assisting our veterinary team with patient care. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well under pressure, has excellent communication and multitasking skills, and is passionate about providing outstanding care to both our patients and their families.

Minimum 2 years of veterinary clinic experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for animal care. What We’re Looking For

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with 2 or more years of experience working in a veterinary clinic and previous experience using AVImark practice management software. Applicants with strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to exceptional client and patient care are encouraged to apply.

Schedule: This is a part-time position with regular shifts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Candidates should be available to work all three scheduled days and be reliable and punctual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients in a friendly, professional manner during check-in and check-out.
  • Accurately update patient records, including obtaining and recording patient weights and ensuring all medical information is current.
  • Schedule appointments, manage the appointment calendar, and contact clients with appointment confirmations and reminders.
  • Process deposits, invoices, payments, and refunds while maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Submit and process pet insurance claims and assist clients with insurance-related inquiries.
  • Answer multi-line phone calls, respond to emails, and provide exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records using the clinic's practice management software.
  • Assist veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians with patient care and daily clinical tasks.
  • Provide gentle, safe, and compassionate restraint of animals during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient flow throughout the day.
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness by performing routine cleaning and daily sanitation of exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and common spaces.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, receiving shipments, and organizing inventory.
  • Support the veterinary team with administrative and patient care duties to ensure efficient daily clinic operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception and hospital environment while providing compassionate care to patients and excellent service to clients.
