Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Office Assistant to join Prairie Veterinary Dental Services. This role is essential in providing excellent support to our veterinary team and ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and possess laboratory experience to assist with various clinical and administrative tasks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment committed to animal health and client care.

Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets, providing friendly and professional customer service
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate patient records
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist during veterinary examinations and treatments
  • Handle administrative tasks such as billing, filing, and inventory management
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic to ensure a safe environment
  • Support laboratory testing procedures, utilizing laboratory experience for accurate results
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and follow-up appointments

PVDS is a veterinary practice which focuses exclusively on providing state of the art dental care to dogs and cats. Our beautiful clinic is located on 124th street in the vibrant community of Westmount, Edmonton. PVDS is committed to ensuring that our practice is well equipped to provide Gold Standard care to patients in Edmonton, throughout Alberta and beyond. We see patients on both DVM referral and pet owner self-referral basis.

Individualized patient care is of utmost importance to us. We recognize that, just like human patients, each of our patients is unique and has their own needs.

We diagnose and treat oral and dental disease including periodontal disease, stomatitis, fractured teeth, malocclusions, oral tumors, and oral and maxillofacial trauma including jaw fractures. We are also huge advocates of professional dental cleanings, also referred to as dental prophylaxis.

Prairie Veterinary Dental Services (PVDS) is a small family owned practice that emphasizes advancing ones training within the veterinary industry. We expect all of our team members to be self motivated and detail oriented, and PVDS will employ it's resources to help you grow within the industry.
